Weekend Wrap-up

We are about half-way into week 2 of our amazing experience and it's been awesome to know that this is a global experience. I'm happy that we've connected with viewers from all around on our website www.lindensdachurch.org - they're watching, sharing, and participating! There's a real sense of excitement and family, and even some healthy rivalry as our audience is vying for a brand-new laptop and the title of QUIZ MASTER!

Did I mention the music! Stephanie Courtney our homegirl; Girly Girl from Mount Vernon SDA; Petula Beckles with her unique style; and triple threat Beverly Burton, singing, playing the piano, and ministering. That's just a sample, trust me!

But the WORD - the most important part. If you have ever wondered if you are ready for baptism, Pastor Harrigan broke it down: you've gotta be taught, you've gotta believe, and you've gotta repent. That's it. No excuses. All roads lead to the baptismal pool. Seize the opportunity to commit your life. Get LOCKED DOWN FOR JESUS!

2 Different WordSmiths, 1 AntiVomit Message

How is it possible that 2 different people can be given 2 different roles and yet present a unified theme? Tonight's topic was 'Smile, You're on Candid Camera.' Faith matters. Works count. Once you believe, you have to live by Jesus' standard. You're not going to study physics all semester then get to the final and have to take a physiology test. You'd fail and that F wouldn't be a fair grade. The Bible is the textbook you'll be tested on for the final - for the JUDGMENT!

So tonight it was amazing to me that the first wordsmith - Michael Olisemeka - and the second wordsmith - Pastor Harrigan - spoke about the same thing. They both referred to Revelations chapter 3: 14 - 22, the message to the Laodiceans that lukewarm Christianity isn't going to cut it. Pastor Harrigan broke it down that lukewarm Christianity is nauseating to Jesus.

Something that is lukewarm, without action eventually goes cold. Take action, catch the fire, get Locked Down for Jesus.

Death 1 or Death 2?

In Tonight's sermon 'When God Messes With Your Plans', Pastor Harrigan stated that there are 2 deaths: the first, when you're laid out in your casket in the church, and the second is the eternal death. Pastor Harrigan taught us that Jesus is more interested in saving us from the second death than from the first. Wow! I text-messaged that statement to a few of my close friends and they were as struck by the concept as I was! One friend said it all, when he said 'That's Heavy.' And that's so true.

How many of us are concerned about the wrong death? I know that I've sometimes been so focused on everything that I want to do before I die that I actually fear death. So I get busy making my plans so I can accomplish what's on my 'Bucket List.' Thank God that when God messes with your plans it's because He has a Bigger, and Better one. There's no reason to fear the first death or worry about running out of time. Believe Jesus, Accept His free gift of Salavation, and Receive His Forgiveness, and TIME is all you'll have to thank Him for His LOVE!

Snow and San Pellegrino

Tonight, Pastor Harrigan preached about 'How Bad Began', and it was definitely a Word straight to the point and straight to the heart. And all we had to do to hear it in person was get through the slippery streets of the biggest snowstorm of the season! Pastor Harrigan used a bottle of San Pellegrino Sparkling Water and two cups; one with just water, and one with water plus a small spritz of tile cleaner fluid to show how Satan layers truth, a little false, and more truth to try to lead us astray. If you saw the demo with Kyle and Jamole not only was it hilarious, but it made the point crystal clear. Don't be lead astray. Accept only the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!

Prayer + Power

The Prayer Warriors don't play no games! Alissa and Kurt are in charge and believe me when I tell you that they personally know the power of prayer. They aren't your HIGH-AND-MIGHTY, "I'm better than you because I'm so holy" pretentious Christians. They are young people who really believe that GOD Can and GOD Will.
